Soothe Inflammation Recipe

INFLAMMATION

If you experience persistent or recurring pain, there is chronic (ongoing) inflammation happening in your body.

Other symptoms of chronic inflammation include poor immune function and frequent infections • constant tiredness, muscle weakness and lack of energy • gut issues, insulin resistance, excessive mucus • mood and sleep disorders • allergies • asthma • skin rashes • psoriasis • rheumatism and joint pain.

UNDERSTANDING INFLAMMATION

Inflammation is your immune system’s way of protecting you from irritants and infection from invaders. Your immune system immediately sends cells to fight harmful germs, heal an injury, remove defective cells, or counteract exposure to toxins or toxic chemicals.

The signs of inflammation include swelling, redness, heat (including fever), and pain, or you could lose function like a swollen joint that can no longer bend.

When you get a splinter or thorn in your finger, you know it because the wound swells up, turns red and hot, and hurts until the invader is forced out. That is inflammation; it’s your body’s way of protecting you.

CHRONIC INFLAMMATION

If inflammation is severe and ongoing (chronic), you develop illness and exhaustion.

With chronic inflammation, your immune system is worn out and needs a lot of energy and support to overcome infection.

Auto-immune diseases are also chronic inflammatory disorders that occur when the immune system goes haywire and attacks your body’s own cells. Common autoimmune disorders include celiac disease, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn’s disease.

HOW YOU CAN HELP CHRONIC INFLAMMATION

If you have ongoing symptoms of inflammation, you need to support your immune system.

Start by addressing your gut health because your immune system depends on the microorganisms that live in your gut. And the food we eat determines what kind of microorganisms we grow in our guts – friendly or disease-causing.

Health begins with what you provide your body. You reap what you eat!

You need to stop eating inflammatory foods and increase anti-inflammatory nutrition to reduce inflammation

If you’re unsure where to start, look at The Mediterranean Diet and recipe books.

Our practitioners are also here to support you. Have a look at our services page and how our team can help you.

You can also begin eliminating highly refined foods, fried foods, red meat, sugar-loaded food, and carbonated drinks (fizzy), from your diet.

And start drinking lemon water and aloe vera juice every day.

LEMON JUICE

Although we think of lemons as acidic, lemon juice produces alkaline byproducts once it has been metabolised. This alkalising effect helps flush out your kidneys and calm inflammation.

Studies also show that lemon juice promotes healthy intestinal bacteria. You also gain a healthy dose of vitamin C, calcium, potassium, and folate to boost your body.

ALOE VERA JUICE

Aloe vera soothes the delicate lining of your intestinal tract, alleviates inflammation, and helps prevent gastric ulcers.

Aloe is also an excellent prebiotic, feeding healthy gut bacteria so they can flourish. And that’s great news for gut health and your immune system. Plus, you get a good dose of amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes.

We use 100% pure cold-pressed aloe vera pulp juice at the clinic, made by Aloe Vera of Australia. It’s preservative-free and grown in organic conditions.

LEMON ALOE VERA PULP JUICE RECIPE

First thing in the morning, on an empty stomach, pour yourself a glass of pure water – filtered or distilled.

Add the juice of half a lemon and one metric teaspoon (5mL) of aloe vera pulp juice. If you suffer from constipation, add a tablespoon of aloe vera pulp juice. Aloe vera pulp has a laxative effect at a higher dose.

Stir and drink on an empty stomach.

Make sure you rinse your mouth of any residue afterward so the citric acid in lemon juice doesn’t affect your tooth enamel.

That’s it.

Lemon & Aloe Vera Juice is a simple recipe that helps calm inflammation, promotes better gut health, and supports your immune system.

Cheers to better health!
